A Georgian silver large basting spoon with a fiddle pattern handle. It has the London hallmark for 1828 and the initials for John, Henry & Charles Lias. The bowl is quite long at 9.7 cm by 5.7 cm at the widest. Of interest are the initials engraved to the top of the handle which appear to read MAD. Normal age related wear, scratches and light marks. A few very minor nicks to the edge of the bowl. Minor wear to the tip of the bowl. Length: 30 cm (11 3/4 inch). Width: 5.7 cm (2 1/4 inch) across bowl. Weight: 106 grams total (before packing).
