The ladle is 16 ¼ inches long, and the oval bowl is 3 ¼ inches across by 1 1/8 inch deep. The baleen handle is tightly twisted and has a silver cap. The piece has a crest of a bird with an olive branch on the front of the bowl (not shown). It is marked in the bowl with a maker's mark of T?With London hallmarks for 1792-93. It is also marked with a lion passant on the stem. Condition on the piece is quite good. There is some wear to the varnish on the handle.
