Very Rare Georgian Sterling Silver Tongue Scraper 1818 Medical Dental Antique
A very rare English Georgian antique solid sterling silver tongue scraper. It is hallmarked for London 1818 with the makers marks being that of Henry Tippen. It has have been superbly made having spiral arms. These were used for removing plaque from the tongue and were part of a very wealthy persons dental regime, they were usually made of silver as it is sterile. It is in ok condition considering how rare it is being free from dings but has have an old repair to the arch (see photos). 4.75 inches (11.6cm) long by 1.5 inches (3.8cm) wide at its widest point and weigh 14 grams.
